Welcome to Deep Cuts Book Club, a space for curious readers who love discovering books beyond the usual bestseller lists. Whether we're exploring overlooked classics, ambitious contemporary fiction, forgotten gems, thought-provoking nonfiction, or works from voices that deserve wider recognition, our goal is simple: read deeply, think critically, and enjoy great conversations. This club is built on the belief that every book has layers worth exploring. We gather not only to discuss plots and characters, but also to examine themes, craft, context, and the ideas that stay with us long after the final page. Whether you're a lifelong reader or returning to books after a break, your perspective is valuable. Member Guidelines
1. Respect All Perspectives
Members may have different interpretations and reactions to a book. Healthy disagreement is encouraged; personal attacks are not.
2. Come Prepared
Try to complete the assigned reading before each meeting. If you haven't finished, you're still welcome to join, but be aware that spoilers may be discussed.
3. Share the Conversation
Give everyone an opportunity to speak. Be mindful of balancing participation so all voices can be heard.
4. Stay Curious
Ask questions, explore ideas, and engage thoughtfully. The goal is discussion, not debate.
5. Keep Discussions Book-Focused
Personal experiences can enrich conversation, but discussions should remain connected to the reading.
6. Respect Confidentiality
Personal stories or sensitive experiences shared during discussions should remain within the group unless permission is given to share them elsewhere.
7. Avoid Interruptions
Allow speakers to finish their thoughts before responding.
8. Embrace Diverse Reading
Members are encouraged to approach unfamiliar genres, authors, and perspectives with an open mind.
9. Be Kind to New Members
Welcome newcomers and help create an inclusive atmosphere.
10. Have Fun
Reading should be enjoyable. Thoughtful discussion and good company are the heart of the club.
